Christmas lights

I like most Christmas lights, but i prefer those that are actually lights. I'm not a huge fan of the blowups they just seem crowded, in the way, they aren't very original, and the are pretty tacky. I really like the white lights that people have. Have you ever seem Christmas vacation? Well if you have then you know what I'm talking about when i say there is a great example of Christmas lights in that movie!!!!! and if you have not seen it then you really  need to its a great holiday movie and its freaking hilarious. OK back to the lights i really don't like the color ones that much because they usually aren't very bright and they don't catch my attention that well. I really light the white lights on my Christmas tree as well because it makes the tree look extremely nice, except when some lights are out on your pre-lit tree. So if i could choose some lights for you it would be the white lights!!!

The Chirstmas Present That Ive Always Wanted

A Christmas present that i really wanted one year was............A Red Rider BB Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle! with a compass in the stock and this think that tells the time.  Unfortunately  i wasn't able to get, my mom gave this lame " You will shoot your eye out" line. So i only ended up getting some small little toys and the awful pink bunny costume that my mother made me wear around all day. That was a good Christmas though I beat up the bully, my dad heard me say the F-dash-dash-dash word, and he ended up getting a leg lamp.....which my mom ended up breaking. Then to rap it all up the neighbors dogs got into our house and ate are turkey that we were going to have for lunch, so instead we had a nice duck from the local Chinese restaurant which the waiters tried but failed to sing Deck the Halls.

96 dodge ram pickup = trash

Since i recived my licence i now am most likely going to have to drive my dads truck. He has a black 96 dodge ram pickup. The word the describes this piece of scrap metal is trash. there are many things that are wrong with this truck.

  •  the exterior paint job is bad
  • there are a ton of scratches on it, theres even a scratch that looks like a feather
  • the front bumper has a HUGE dent in it.
  • the tinting on he windows are peeling off
  • the roof fabric is coming of the roof
  • the speakers are busted
  • the radio was broken until recently fixed
  • the gas gauage doesnt work
  • the check engine light is constantly on
  • the brakes sqeek like nails on a chalk board
  • the steering wheel shakes when you are driving it
  • there is dog hair in it
  • there is the awful stinch in there that makes me want to puke everytime im in there
I really hope i don't have to drive this demon car anymore than i have to, and hopefully i can buy my own car soon.

I PASSED

Last Tuesday i passed my drivers test to get my intermediate license. all morning before the test i was extremely nerves about taking this test so my mom took me out of school right at the beginning of 3rd period to practice some and i believed it helped....... As we approached the man that was going to be the instructor for my test i thought to my self " this is it, its all or nothing, leave it all in the car, be the car, its win or go home". After i gave him all my paperwork and listened to his corny jokes about my last name and that i lived on 81 which really made no since but i went with it because i wanted to pass. As i started to drive i thought to myself this isn't so bad at it was a breeze the rest of the way. I messed up twice during the test once because i went a little to far past the stop sign until i stopped, which was fine with me my bad, BUT!!!! the second one got to me!!!!! my second flaw was that when i pulled up to the car i had to parallel park behind i remembered what my DRIVERS ED TEACHER SAID TO ME " pull as close to the car as you can without hitting it" so i did that and when i finished my successful park the instructor said " good but you were to close to the car when you pulled up to it" I couldn't believe what i just heard, it was probably worse that the time my parents let me know there wasn't a Santa Clause, it was that bad.

When i pulled up to the finish he let me know again what i did wrong and he also let be know i passed with flying colors ( other than the 2 i missed ) i was so happy so i drove to school and went to English class and told people about my test!

My Job

For the past month i have been employed at a store named Legends ( which is a soccer store that also prints for team shirts and we travel for soccer tournaments for you people that didn't know what it was). Legends is located on Washington Ave., its beside the big Independence Bank, and by Old Hickory BBQ. Its a nice job i get there about 3:30 every week day ( I don't work on the weekends unless its for a tournament) and i get off at 6. I think those hours are good for a first job if i say so myself. Heres a typical day for me at Legends. I arrive at legends at about 3:30 maybe a little later, then i go to the bathroom and change into my work clothes. After that i say hey to everyone one and i go into the back room AKA where all the work gets done. There i ask my boss what do you need me to do which is usually one of the following

put names and numbers on shirts
sort shirts into style, color, and size.
pull shirts off the press and put them on the dryer
keep things straight around the work area.
or clean screens ( not fun ).

After i finish one of those ask i go to another and keep doing that until around 5:50 where then i turn off all the heat presses and lock the garage door turn off the light and clock out at 6:00.....then go home

Well there you have the work life of a lefty

THIS BLOG IS DEDICATED TO CONNOR "THE MOOCHER" HUNDLEY WHO DOESNT HAVE A JOB AND HAS HIS PARENTS PAY FOR EVERYTHING!!!

thank you for your time and have a great day in the left lane

10 ways to say no without using the word no

• You can’t do that.
• You go ahead. Let me know how it goes.
• I need some alone time right now.
• I’m not interested.
• Let me check my calendar.
• Been there, done that.
• It’s not a priority for me.
• My spouse wouldn’t approve.
• I don’t want to hold you up so feel free to ask someone else.
• My mother taught me not to say yes to everything.

Thanksgiving

My traditional family meal is an amazing one. To start with the meat we have turkey (but whose family doesn’t) but we also have ham because some of the family likes some nice warm smoked ham. Next we have another pretty traditional food for more than one family stuffing with the option of gravy. Then we usually have corn, mash potatoes, and green bean (nothing to fancy) Next we have the greatest part of the entre the casseroles!!! We have broccoli, hash brown, and the best of them all SWEET POTATO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This casserole destroys all others in the taste. If you ever have a chance to eat it you should it will melt in your mouth. Then to finish of the entre we have warm rolls topped with butter. Now for desert we usually have pie pumpkin and pecan they are amazing especially when they are topped with whipped cream. Well that finishes off my traditional family meal so come on over next Thursday and enjoy some Sweet Potato Casserole with me and my family!!

Earth

It’s pretty amazing to see all the continents on earth at night and seeing how lit up some continents are compared to others. When you compare the United States to Africa there is a huge difference Africa is a lot larger than the United States but there is like 5 times more light at night in the U.S. than in Africa. I really liked how the PowerPoint pinpointed the exact spots where the lights were brighter on Brazil and the United States. I was really amazed when it showed a sand storm going cross the ocean and it changing from night to day in Africa. Earth is an amazing place and we really need to keep it that way.

Buffalo Bills = Embarrassing

Embarrassing is the word that would describe that Buffalo Bills the season. They haven't won a game yet so they have a record of 0-7. Here are some more stats about their awful year. They are 29 overall for net total yards with only 1769 yards in that category. They are 28 overall for total first downs with a smidgen amount of 98 first downs. They are 26 overall in total passing yards with only about 1105 yards. Their QB has thrown only 12 touchdowns and 6 interceptions with a QB rating of 89.5 ( that's not good). For their rushing statistics they are only ranked 19th which doesn't seem that bad BUT!!! their rushing game only has one touchdown this season and only 664 yards. Now to the receiving game the Buffalo bills are ranked 26th in total receiving yards it doesn't get much worse than that. I will give some credit to their defense as its ranked 3rd in the league but if your offense can put off then there is no way you can win. These guys are on the right track to be headed to a win less season which would be the first since the 2008 lions and they would be one of 5 teams that lost every game in a season........best of luck to you.

1994 Year of the Lefty

1994, probably the best year in the last 2010 years. Not just because I was born this year but also some amazing things happened this year from major sports stories to major stories about everything else.

  • The Civil War in Rwanda
  • IRA peace talk results in cease-fire
  • An Israeli fanatic kills 29 Palestinians
  • Existance of the Black Hole proved
  • MLB players strike- which results in a cancelation of the World Series ( Yankees would have won)
  • NHL locked out players over salaries
  • The Whitewater scadel begins to be investigated
  • Haiti's president returns from his exile.
  • Comet Hits Jupiter
  • OJ ( enough said)
  • L.A. suffers a massive earthquake
  • Ice storm of 94'
  • Brush fire in Sydney Australia
  • Brazil Wins the 1994 World Cup ( SOCCER!!!)
  • Micheal Jackson Marries Elvis' daughter
  • Tiger Woods wins the masters ( 18 years old)
  • Hit show Friends was released .
  • Oldest human remains found (4.4 million years old)

My Favorite Halloween

My favorite Halloween was probably when i was a dead/zombie soccer player....which I seemed to be about every other during in my life time. But there was one year that I was a dead/zombie soccer player that was ten times better than the rest. The reason for this was the costume I wore. To set things off I had a white foundation covering my face then to put some extra detail in it I had some black eyeliner outlining my brown eyes. Then to finish off the creation of my zombie face i had fake blood flowing out of my mouth. Now for the focal point of the costume was my wardrobe. I started out with a normal soccer uniform ( a white jersey, black shorts, and black socks) then i thought to my self this isn't enough i need a little more spice to this costume........... So i decided to cut a soccer ball in half and put one half on the front of my torso and half on the back as if someone had kicked a ball so hard that it impelled me and I added some fake blood around the ball for some special effects. As i think about it all my dead/zombie soccer players were pretty much amazing but as i said before this was the best by a long shot.

SCARY MOVIES!!!

I really cant think of an individual movie that scared me but I get freaked out by movies when the bad guy tortures his victims in weird ways. These movies get to me after i watch them. After the credits start to roll I  seem to always check the places where some person that's trying to get me might be hiding such as the closet but before i walk over to my closet I peek my head under my bed praying that there is no one under my bed. So when I finally get out of my bed i rush to the light switch to turn on my lights as if the lights would scare someone off that was lurking around my house. Then it comes to the closet as i sneak up to my closet all i can think about is what to do if there really is someone in there should i run and yell, or should i try to beat the person up. Then i begin to turn the cold door knob and I fling the door open and all that is in there is my cloths and some other junk. I sigh in relief....then i think to my self.....what about my basement!!!!

Theres always next year

Well as you probably know the Yankees were knocked out of the playoffs last Friday night due to the outstanding play from the Rangers. And I would like to wish the the Rangers good luck as the play in their first world series appearance against the San Fransisco Giants this Wednesday. OK now back to the Yankees even though the Yankees made it back to the American League Championship Series for the second year in a row they they did awful against the Rangers. I put all the blame on the Yankees pitching rotation and  their bull pin. Yea some people may say that their offense wasn't so hot either. That is true but if your team gets scored on 5 times within the first 3 innings there's nothing your offense can really do to help  to help when your pitching is doing awful. So as of today im going to be praying that the Yankees pick up Cliff Lee this off season and maybe even throw in there Carl Crawford just for a little help in the out field.

they are in a whole lot of trouble!!!

tonight at 7:07 p.m. central time A.J. Burnett will be throwing the first pitch to open game 4 of the American League Championship Series against the Texas Rangers. So far the Yanks haven't been doing so well and they are down 2-1 in the seven game series. They got lucky the first game as the rallied back from a 5-0 deficit in the 8th inning to come back and win 6-5. Then they got blown away in game two as they went down 7-2. Then last night during game three the Rangers ace Cliff Lee iced the Yankees line-up and had 13 strikeouts as the Rangers shutout the Yanks 8-0. So as the Yanks try to even the series tonight I will be watching and wearing my Yankee shirt and hat and socks and shorts and underwear(not really) and hope the A.J can give the Rangers a run for their money..........GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!

Dez Bryant #88

You know someone that is 10 times better than CJ Spiller.....Dez Bryant!!! This man was the 24th draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys although CJ Spiller was drafted before Dez, I will prove to you why he is so much better!!! First and foremost Dez played for Oklahoma State who in 2008 was ranked 1th in the nation when CJ Spiller's team Clemson  was not ranked in the top 25 that year. Second Dez Bryant had 87 receptions for 1480 yards his junior year which led to 19 touchdowns. When CJ Spiller only had 16 touchdowns his senior season. And last but not least Dex Bryant pays for his whole team to have dinner which the bill ends up being about $54,000 not including tax. This just shows what a polite and one of a kind man Dez Bryant is......you wont ever see Mr. Spiller pay for the bill at a restaurant.

Sportscenter = The God of the Sport TV shows

Every morning I wake up to the voice of Scott Van Pelt informing me about the latest news in the sports world. This is because he is an anchor on the popular show Sportscenter. From about 11 p.m. central time til around 4 p.m. central time the same show with the same information is played over and over and over and over again. The only thing that really changes is the anchors or unless there is some breaking news about how Brett Favre says he's going to retire then the next show he says he's coming back for another season. But on some early Sunday mornings i find myself watching the same stuff over and over again as if somethings going to be different. Then when i do see the big words "BREAKING NEWS" i get some butterflies in my tummy because i get so excited that something new is coming up!!! So i have to say that Sportscenter is the god of the sport TV shows compared to that wimpy ESPNEWS who uses the N in their name for two words and only has 30 minute shows when Sportscenter has an hour long show. And i don't recall their ever being an hour long special about where Lebron James is going to play next year on ESPNEWS...oh yeah that was on SPORTSCENTER! You have to be pretty popular and powerful to land an interview with King James. So i say that proves is Sportscenter is the got of all sport shows.

the end to another road

As this years soccer season comes to a close...i begin to think about many different things. One of those things would be what have I learned over the past 5 months of nothing but soccer? Well of course one thing i learned was to give everything i have for however long im out on the field wether its 5 minutes or 80 because I only have two more years of soccer left and I don't want to feel like I didn't give all I could when it is all said and done. This doesn't just apply to soccer but also everything else in life. This applies to school as well, after you have graduated, you think about what you want to do the rest of your life, and if you didn't give everything you had while you were in highschool and tried your hardest you may not be in the best position to get a good job, start a family, and so on. So as you continue your journey in life, and come to the end of another road ask yourself, did I give it all i had? did i leave everything i had on the field or the classroom? If you did the next road in your journey will be just right.

Its a race!!!

there is only 2 weeks left in the MLB regular season, and its a tight race between the "Bronx Bombers" also know as the New York Yankees!!!! and the Tampa Bay Rays to win the division. The Yanks lead the divison by a 1.5 games. To win the divison is a big thing not only  because you get a sweet hat and t-shirt and get to spray champange at everyone in your locker room but also becasue the winner gets home field advantage throughout the playoffs up until the world series. Why is home field advantage so important you may ask? Well teams seem to play better infront of their home crowd, and it seems to give them that extra energy to win a game. The yankees are my team, they have been since i knew what baseball was and will continue being my team til I die. They are defending World Series champs and they have a great chance to accomplish that title again this year as long as they keep there heads up and keep swinging for the fences.

Sleeping

Sleeping is my favorite thing to do after an away soccer game. But of course there is always things keeping you from getting to sleep such as taking a shower, eating supper, and even doing homework. Tonight is one of those nights. As I ate my hamburger and french fries from Ralleys on my way home from a soccer game in Madisonville all i could thing about was getting in bed and falling asleep within minutes. This feeling began to get stronger as i arrived home and was taking a shower. Trying not to fall asleep there i pushed myself to finish showering so i could get to the next obsticle seperating me and my soft bed.....homework! I knew i had some spanish homework and english to do before hit the hay, so i got busy working hard on my spanish first trying to keep my eyes pryed open with all the energy i had left and i did it. So my next task was my dreadful english homework. I knew i didnt have a whole lot of energy left to do anything so i slowly start typing.....what i wanted to talk about.........and before i knew it....................................i was finished.....................................................................ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Blogging

Blogging is an interesting way to present yourself to those who follow you. It lets them know whats on your mind right now or even the latest 411 on your life. But there are those times when your in your third period study hall class on a Thursday at 12:41 in the afternoon and you can't think of something to talk about. So you just sit there thinking of things that you might start talking about, and you may even start writing about them then you think you yourself...nah that's not going anywhere. So you delete what you just typed and start over again. As you start thinking about what you may talk about again, sometimes you may day dream about things or start thinking about the game tonight. Then your off forgetting about blogging and that you need one more blog by tomorrow, until you finally snap back into focus and realized you have accomplished nothing within the past 10 minutes. Which gives you the idea of writing about not being able to think of something to write about.....Its funny how somethings work

STEVE NASH!!

Steve John Nash is probably......no no Steve John Nash is the greatest Canadian to walk the face of the earth. This man plays basketball for the Phoenix Suns and he puts the smack down on all other point guards in the NBA expecailly Rajon Rondo. He has yet to win a NBA championship, but he has been named the MVP twice. Which isnt very suprising because he averages 16.5 points per game and 11 assist per game. Also  he is a 7 time NBA allstar and he has been in the NBA for 14 seasons. This 35 year old ledgend will most likely be inducted into the NBA hall of fame but i hope he will win himself a ring and maybe even another MVP award before he does. The day Steve John Nash retires is going to be the same year Brett Farve retires.....we will never know.

the toughest week of soccer

This week is going to be the hardest out of the rest of the season. The reason for this is we are playing 4 games and all 4 teams are ranked in the top 25 in the state of Kentucky. The first game is today which we play Owensboro High School who is ranked in the top 10 and we have three of our starters out for this game, so it may nit end so well. As for the other three games we play this weekend in a tournament in Bowling Green, which the first game we play lafayette who is ranked 25th in the state. Then we play Elizabethtown who is ranked 21st in the state, And last but definatley not least we play Ballard who is 6th in the state. This again is going to be a harsh week for are team but it may just be a great experience for us...and who knows maybe we can pull out an upset on someone.

we won!!

Are first win of the season came against our rivals Owensboro Catholic tonight. It was a great game are team played great and gave it all they had. the score stayed tied until about 16 minutes left in the second half when we brought the ball down into their goal box. The ball seemed like it was in their goal box for 20 mins and finally after it was kicked back and forth it came to the feet of Alex Hopewell and he put it in the back of the net. All of our fans and our team was ecstatic, it was an amazing moment. After losing our first 3 games it felt great to win this won against catholic. We just need to keep playing hard and giving it all we have and we will keep on succeeding this season!

My First Goal

Our last scrimmage before the season officaly began, and I was unprepared for what was about to happen. We were playing mulenburg county and we were down 1-0 at half time. As the team walk off the field at half we knew we were going to get a mouth full from our coach, he was frustrated at us because we werent playing hard enough and that we can beat this team if we gave it all we got. So about 10 mins in the second they scored again, but we werent going down with out a fight. About 5 mins after they scored one of my teamates crossed the ball in and it flicked off of Reid's nose and as i saw the ball coming to me all i could think about was heading it and hopeing for the best. As the ball connected with my head it just got out of the reach of the keepers hands and it landed in the back of the net. I didnt really go crazy though ( at least on the outside i wasnt) after i scored even though a few of my teammates were yelling my name and patting me on the back, i knew i couldnt get to excited because we were still down a goal. unforchantly we still ended up losing 3-2 in a good battle but i was happy with my performance and was just that much more excited for our first offical game.

A new season with higher expectations

At the beginning of the summer the only thing on my mind was this is my first year of varsity soccer and i knew i had a lot of work to put in because I was most likely will be starting this year. Coach let us know at the beginning of the that he had high expectations for us after losing 10 seniors last season. So after all the hot days and long runs i was ready for my first game as a varsity soccer player. Our first games were at the Blue Grass State Games we ended up not making it past the first day with the record of 1 loss and 1 win, but i feel like I did well individually. As the summer went on we had another scrimmage we tied 2-2 put we out played them the whole game. Coach told us that this game was one of the best he has seen played by Apollo in a long time and if we kept playing like that we could go far into the season. So with that mind set in our heads and our first official game against the power house bowling green next week i think we will be able to keep with them and hopefully be at the top in the end.
